Job summary

Voleon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Strategy Research Analytics to lead the design and long-term architecture of analytics infrastructure supporting research reporting and analysis across strategies.

You will own recurring analytics pipelines and foundational datasets, guiding the transition to a standardized, observable, query-native platform while shaping technical direction and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 6+ years building analytics or data infrastructure systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with distributed query engines and large-scale compute systems.
• Demonstrated ownership of large-scale or mission-critical data infrastructure.
• Strong data modeling expertise and reproducibility considerations.
• Expertise in metadata management, data lineage, and governance principles.

Responsibilities

• Own implementation and ongoing operation of recurring analytics pipelines (e.g., Airflow) with monitoring and reliability improvements.
• Lead architectural evolution of the analytics platform, including schema standardization and modernization of workflows.
• Drive cross-team technical alignment when consolidating outputs.
• Build and maintain base analytics tables and metrics with strong schema discipline.
• Define and implement reliability standards (SLOs, observability patterns, runbooks).
• Improve transparency through documentation, discoverability, and data contracts.
• Optimize distributed compute and SQL performance; design data layouts for columnar storage.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and raise the bar for rigor.
