Job summary
Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Session Replay to shape a new Grafana Cloud product. You will own end-to-end technical direction across frontend, backend, and data systems, drive architectural evolution, and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver cohesive experiences.
The role is remote-first in the USA time zones, with a stack including Go, TypeScript, React, and Grafana ecosystem components, and a focus on scalable session data storage and analysis.
Qualifications
- Experience building data-intensive backend services and front-end workflows.
- Ability to design systems around columnar/analytical storage for large-scale data.
- Strong collaboration across remote teams and clear communication in English.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end technical direction for Session Replay across frontend, backend, and data systems.
- Evolve backend architecture with columnar/analytical storage and data models; define ingestion pipelines and queries.
- Lead investigation workflows tying replay with logs, metrics, traces, and telemetry.
- Make high-leverage architectural decisions impacting multiple teams.
- Partner with Grafana teams to build cohesive cross-product experiences.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and help instrument Session Replay.
- Mentor engineers and promote technical leadership within the team.
