A technology firm is seeking a Remote Senior Software Engineer to support the development of a web application for predictive analytics. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Python and JavaScript, with a proven ability to work within a team of data scientists. This position allows for remote work within the continental U.S. and may require occasional travel to Ohio for setup.
Remote Senior Software Engineer (25-27 DATA SCIENTIST, SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST AND SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER)
The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, is the first human-centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education and consultation under a single organization. Established under the Air Force Research Laboratory, the 711 HPW is comprised of the Human Effectiveness Directorate (RH) and the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). The Wing delivers capability to the Air Force through infrastructure and expertise of its diverse workforce spanning 75 occupational specialties including science and engineering, occupational health and safety, medical professions, technicians, educators, and business operations and support.
The contractor shall meet all requirements per the basic contract and provide professionally and technically qualified individuals to perform all tasks to fulfill the requirements of this task order. This effort includes tasks and activities to support the USAFSAM Aerospace Medicine Consultation Division specifically to support clinical and operational data analysis.
The contractor shall be provided office/laboratory space, furniture and equipment, routine office/laboratory supplies, computer hardware and software necessary to perform tasks described in this performance work statement. The government will also provide telephone service and access to a fax machine and a copier as required. All software and hardware, passwords/access to military Internet/E-mail and applicable database will be available within the scope of the contract. The contractor shall comply with local, AF and DoD policies.
Work will be accomplished at Bldg. 840, WPAFB, OH 45433-7913 or remotely (only from the continental U.S.) beginning 30 September 2025. Working from home is permitted via VPN access and appropriate contractor supplied high-speed internet access. Travel to WPAFB to obtain computer hardware and software and establish access is required at the start of services.
Work schedule is normally Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM; however, there may be times when it is necessary for the contractor to work after duty hours in support of specific tasks.
The requirements in this section of the PWS are non-personal services. The requirements herein are the responsibility of the contractor. The Government has the right to reject the finished product or result if contractor performance does not meet the acceptable quality level listed in the PWS. The Contractor shall manage its employees and guard against any actions that are of the nature of personal services or give the perception of personal services. If the Contractor believes that any actions constitute or are perceived to constitute personal services, or are outside the scope of this task order, the Contractor shall notify the Contracting Office (CO) immediately.
Employee must be a U.S. citizen. For base and network access, possession of a permanent resident card (Green Card) does not equate to U.S. citizenship.
Contractor will be required to travel when authorized to participate in customer business line related travel, including meetings and conferences, to fulfill mission goals. Travel will be as directed and coordinated through the Government two weeks in advance. Specific locations, duration, and number of trips will be directed by the Government, with adequate travel funding in accordance with the task order. When travel is identified, the contractor shall provide an estimate of all travel costs by location, broken out by item, for review prior to travel.
Position of Trust. All contractor personnel require a minimum of a Tier 1 background check (T1)/SF85 for any position that requires access to the internet, use of automated information systems, or unescorted entry into restricted or controlled areas prior to reporting for duty. This is a DoD security requirement, not a clearance. The contractor shall provide OPSEC protection for all sensitive information as defined by AFI 10-701. The highest level of security classification required is Unclassified.
Contractor Progress, Status and Management Report (PSMR). On a monthly basis, the contractor shall provide a status report describing work accomplished and any issues or anticipated risks. The report shall have five sections: Project Title, Time Period of report, Date; Performance; Schedule; Costs; Risk. Technical reports and data shall be non-proprietary and easily transferable; all reports and data are the property of the 711 HPW/RH and shall not be reused or distributed without permission and shall retain origin markings.
