Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking an Information Security Analyst III to lead the SOC and monitor a complex enterprise environment from a fully remote location. You will coordinate incident response, investigate high-severity threats, and drive improvements in detection, logging, and security tooling across ITS and the broader university.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in cybersecurity, 4+ years in SOC/IR, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, data analytics, information assurance, computer science, or related field. Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable
• 5+ years of relevant or specific experience in cybersecurity
• 4+ years in a security operations center (SOC) or cybersecurity incident response team
• ISC2 CISSP; CISM/CISA; CySA+/Security+/Network+ or related certs are desirable
• Experience collecting and analyzing data from firewalls, logs, and cloud resources to enable enterprise monitoring
• Experience writing and maintaining scripts for security operations automation

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior escalation point for security alerts and incidents triaged by level I and II analysts.
• Act as Incident Coordinator in alignment with SNHU's incident response plan.
• Lead investigations of complex or high-severity threats or incidents.
• Define containment and eradication activities for incidents and malware remediation.
• Work with ITS and SNHU business units to provide guidance and technical implementations.
• Analyze digital evidence to identify indicators of compromise and attack vectors.
• Remain calm and function at a high level during crises.
• Develop SIEM alerts, reports, and dashboards to enhance detection coverage.
• Identify and onboard log data from diverse sources for comprehensive monitoring.
• Lead Security Operations engineering initiatives and implement security tooling.
