Job summary

Intellum, Inc. is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive reliability, scalability, and modernization of our platform infrastructure. You will own infrastructure modernization from legacy environments to containerized, multi-cloud setups, and elevate CI/CD tooling with strong engineering leadership.

You will design IaC across providers, lead incident responses, optimize costs, and mentor the Systems Engineering team in a fast-growing SaaS environment with global, distributed teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure/DevOps/SRE or related field.
• Deep experience building and operating highly available production infra.
• Production cloud across AWS and/or Google Cloud; fluent in at least one and capable in the other.
• Hands-on with container orchestration and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience modernizing infra to cloud-native/containerized models.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or similar.
• Experience building/improving CI/CD and deployment tooling.
• Strong incident response and root-cause analysis skills.
• Linux administration and scripting in Ruby/Python.
• Experience in SaaS environments prioritizing reliability and availability.
• Ability to collaborate across US and European time zones; on-call capable.
• Excellent technical leadership and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure modernization initiatives with containerized, portable architectures.
• Design and maintain multi-cloud IaC supporting portability and scalability.
• Improve CI/CD reliability and tooling for efficient deployments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across Systems Engineering.
• Establish and evolve SLI/SLO monitoring and alerting.
• Lead incident response and drive post-incident improvements.
• Control cloud cost considerations within architectural decisions.
• Enhance developer experience with better environments and workflows.
• Collaborate with Security and Engineering on access controls and hardening.
• Shape the Systems Engineering roadmap and mentor engineers.
