Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for a remote contract role. The position focuses on supporting the vulnerability management lifecycle, operating Tenable scanning, and coordinating remediation with application and infrastructure teams across Windows, Linux, and cloud environments.

Strong communication and risk translation skills are required, with PCI/HIPAA/SOX familiarity as a plus. The contract role offers hourly W2 compensation and is remote with possible designation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a strong vulnerability management focus.
• Understanding of the vulnerability management lifecycle and risk-based prioritization.
• Experience with Tenable products, preferably Tenable Security Center.
• Ability to analyze vulnerabilities and provide actionable remediation guidance.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills, capable of explaining risk to technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle from identification through remediation guidance and tracking.
• Operate and maintain vulnerability scanning capabilities, including Tenable Security Center.
• Analyze findings, determine risk, and communicate impact and remediation priorities to tech teams.
• Develop detailed remediation guidance and recommend compensating controls when needed.
• Coordinate remediation activities with application owners and infrastructure teams.
