Humana, Inc. is seeking a Senior Research Scientist (Remote) to apply statistical, epidemiologic, and causal inference methods to large healthcare datasets for evaluating clinical programs and informing strategic decisions.

This role sits within the Quality & Cost Strategy Analytics team and collaborates across clinical, operational, and business partners. The ideal candidate holds a master's or PhD in a quantitative field, has 3+ years using Python, PySpark, R, or SAS, and can translate complex

Competenze

• Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field (epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, statistics, health services research, clinical informatics).
• 3+ years applying statistical/epidemiologic/econometric methods to large datasets.
• Strong foundation in causal inference and study design (observational studies, CER, RCTs).
• 3+ years manipulating and analyzing large datasets with Python, PySpark, R, SAS or similar tools.
• Ability to translate ambiguous problems into rigorous analytical approaches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for non-technical audiences.

• Design and execute rigorous outcomes studies to evaluate clinical, utilization, and financial performance of programs.
• Apply causal inference and epidemiologic methods to estimate program impact for decision-making.
• Analyze medical and pharmacy claims, enrollment, and operational data to identify performance drivers.
• Translate questions into well-defined analytical study designs and hypotheses.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate insights into clinical strategy and performance improvements.
• Develop high-quality analytical reports and executive readouts for diverse audiences.
