Humana, Inc. is seeking a Senior Research Scientist (Remote) to apply statistical, epidemiologic, and causal inference methods to large healthcare datasets. You will evaluate clinical program performance and inform strategic clinical and operational decisions.

As part of the Quality & Cost Strategy Analytics team, you will design rigorous outcomes studies, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and present complex analyses to clinical, operational, and business partners with clarity.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as epidemiology or biostatistics.
• 3+ years applying statistical or econometric methods to large datasets.
• Strong foundation in causal inference and study design.
• 3+ years manipulating data with Python, PySpark, R, or SAS.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate findings for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to choose appropriate analytical methods for complex questions.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and rigor.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
• Interest in healthcare and improving health outcomes.

Responsabilités

• Design and execute rigorous outcomes studies evaluating clinical programs.
• Apply causal inference and epidemiologic methods to estimate impact.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses of claims, enrollment, and operational data.
• Translate questions into well-defined analytical plans and studies.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate insights into recommendations.
• Develop analytical reports and executive readouts for stakeholders.
• Communicate methodologies and findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Independently determine appropriate analytical approaches in complex situations.
• Manage multiple priorities with high methodological rigor and reproducibility.
• Align analytical work with department, segment, and enterprise strategies.
