Child Trends is seeking a (Senior) Research Analyst specializing in quantitative methods for the Child Welfare program area in Baltimore. The role leads multiple projects, contributes to reports, and manages analysis plans with data cleaning and policy-relevant research outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have strong writing, data analysis, and collaboration skills, plus experience with AFCARS/NYTD/NCANDS data and Stata/R. Remote work flexibility is noted with travel as needed.

Formación

• Master’s degree in research methods, statistics, applied statistics, biostatistics, data science, or related field plus 2–3 years experience OR a Bachelor’s degree plus 3–5 years of quantitative experience.
• Experience with inferential statistical techniques and research methods including data cleaning, missing data management, analyses of categorical and continuous data, and quasi‑experimental designs.
• Experience with managing, cleaning, and analyzing secondary/administrative data (AFCARS, NYTD, NCANDS, ACS).
• Proficiency with statistical software: Stata and R.
• Proficiency with MS Office, including advanced Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables).
• Experience with data visualization (Excel, ggplot2, Shiny, Tableau).
• Excellent writing skills for complex information and technical reports.
• Strong task management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsabilidades

• Works on multiple research projects as a quantitative task leader or analyst.
• Contributes to reports, briefs, and memos.
• Manages a quantitative analysis plan from data cleaning to final results with timelines and budgets.
• Designs protocols for quantitative data collection.
• Supports data collection efforts as needed.
• Collaborates to develop analytical plans and data management docs.
• Analyzes quantitative data using basic and advanced statistical methods.
• Conducts research with an equity lens.
• Assists with proposal development and presents findings to clients.
