Syneos Health is seeking a Publications and Scientific Communications Writer (Principal/Sr Principal) to lead publication strategy for portfolio assets. This remote US-only role requires an advanced scientific degree, 5+ years in pharma or medical communications, and strong writing and project-management skills.

You will manage external agencies, interact with authors, and ensure timely delivery of manuscripts, abstracts, and posters while maintaining strict publication guidelines. Travel <10% to US/Europe conferences.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in science (e.g., PhD, PharmD) required.
• Minimum 5 years in pharma, medical communications, or a consulting organization as a publication manager or senior reviewer.
• Exceptional project management and cross-functional leadership in publication strategy.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong writing skills and ability to appraise medical/scientific literature.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of portfolio asset/publication strategy.
• Produce high-quality publications.
• Develop disease/product scientific platform statements.
• Interact with external authors to develop publication content.
• Manage external agencies and freelancers for writing and submission.
• Review publications with authors and reviewers
• Track progress using project status software
• Write, edit, and format manuscripts, abstracts, slides, posters
• Budget planning and milestone tracking
• Adhere to authorship guidelines and publication practices
