Job summary

The New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) seeks a Senior Program Officer to lead the Healthy Food, Healthy Lives priority. Reporting to the Vice President for Programs, the SPO will develop grants, manage programs and partnerships, review proposals, and advance policy research and advocacy across New York State and beyond.

The ideal candidate has a graduate degree in health, public health, public policy, nutrition, or related field and 10+ years of relevant experience, with strong policy,

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in health, public health, public policy, nutrition, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Healthy Food, Healthy Lives or related areas.
• Experience navigating policymakers and partnerships with community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Build a Healthy Food, Healthy Lives strategic plan translating into grants, research, and thought leadership.
• Lead and facilitate meetings with grantees, conduct site visits, review submissions, and summarize outcomes.
• Cultivate partnerships with policymakers, hospital and primary care systems, and food policy groups.
• Prepare written proposals, articles, and briefings for review panels and senior staff.
• Represent the Foundation at conferences, host convenings, and contribute to advocacy efforts.
