Job summary

Aikido is seeking a PR leader who understands how media works, has strong journalist relationships, and can turn product updates, research, and industry insight into compelling stories for coverage.

You will build presence among developers, security teams, and top-tier media, shape our communications strategy with the Content Marketing Lead, and spot timely opportunities in industry news to amplify Aikido’s perspective.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in PR, communications, or journalism.
• Translate product updates into story angles for media.
• Strong writing and storytelling abilities.
• Experience with industry analysts and security audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Build Aikido’s presence among developers, security teams, and major media.
• Collaborate with Content Marketing Lead to execute communications strategy.
• Identify industry news and trends where Aikido adds perspective.
• Connect market happenings to our products and pitch to audiences.
• Shape PR approach as the company grows and evolve relationships with journalists.
• Maintain relationships with journalists across security, developer, and top outlets.
• Pitch stories, commentary, and research to relevant outlets.
• Work with internal experts to develop timely commentary from industry news.
• Turn product launches and marketing initiatives into PR opportunities.
• Coordinate with product, marketing, and content for consistent narrative.
• Build relationships with analysts, creators, influencers, podcasts, and voices in the ecosystem.
• Partner with events team to foster in-person media relationships.
• Coordinate with external PR partners when needed.
• Track and report PR performance and outcomes.
