Job summary

Apera seeks a Senior PCB Designer in California to develop advanced electronics for high-reliability, safety-critical applications. Design and layout multi-layer PCBs from schematic to production, with high-speed routing and impedance control.

Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and systems teams; create fabrication/assembly docs; support prototypes and testing; promote DFM/DFT. Requirements: Bachelor's in EE or equivalent, Altium Designer, analog/mixed-signal expertise,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Proficiency with Altium Designer.
Strong background in analog and mixed-signal electronics.
Experience with PCB fabrication, DFM/DFT, IPC standards, and EMC/EMI considerations.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical devices, defense, or other safety-critical industries is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Design and layout complex, multi-layer PCBs from schematic through production.
Perform component placement, high-speed routing, stack-up design, and impedance control.
Create fabrication and assembly documentation.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams.
Support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) best practices.
