Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a (Senior) Patient Safety Physician, Medical Safety Physician - CRM with remote work options. The role oversees pharmacovigilance risk management for marketed and investigational compounds globally, reporting to US line management and potentially leading a cross-functional safety team.

Ideal candidates have MD/DO with pharma leadership experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to communicate complex safety data to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• US MD or DO degree or international equivalent from an accredited institution required.
• Completion of a US residency or ex-US equivalent preferred.
• Active or inactive US license to practice medicine, or international equivalent preferred.
• Board certification / experience in a medicine subspecialty would be an asset.
• People leadership potential required.

Responsibilities

• Develop or support proactive risk management strategies for assigned products.
• Plan and monitor all pharmacovigilance activities for assigned responsibilities.
• Chair or support BI-internal Asset Benefit Risk Team.
• Lead or direct a team of risk management physicians for an investigational product as needed.
• Provide updates of the safety profile to senior management and BI decision bodies.
• Represent PSPV in internal and external committees and bodies.
