Jobot is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to play a critical role in turning homeownership dreams into reality. This position is primarily remote with occasional onsite meetings, and you will underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans under investor and agency guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to work with branch partners. Competitive compensation and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active FHA DE and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval.
• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Strong customer service mindset and collaborative approach.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with mortgage and lending partners.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in Excel; Encompass experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans in accordance with investor and agency guidelines.
• Submit files through automated underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present qualifying files to loan committee.
• Serve as a trusted underwriting resource for branch partners, assisting with scenarios, questions, and complex files.
• Maintain a consistent 24–48 hour turnaround on new submissions and resubmissions.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation and proper file maintenance.
• Utilize office systems and tools to support efficient underwriting operations.
