Job summary

Attis seeks a Senior/Staff Machine Learning Researcher for Gen AI and geoscience. This research-heavy, hands-on role designs and trains 3D diffusion models conditioned on sparse geophysical observations and develops generative architectures to produce 3D subsurface models.

Collaborate with geoscientists to apply diffusion methods to clean energy projects, optimize training pipelines in a high-throughput PyTorch environment, and manage large high-dimensional datasets.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics from a top-tier research university.
• Mastery of PyTorch, including building complex, large-scale architectures from the ground up.
• Proven track record managing high-quality, high-dimensional datasets.
• Strong software engineering foundations (version control, testing, scalable system design).

Responsibilities

• Design and train 3D diffusion models conditioned on sparse geophysical observations.
• Develop generative architectures from scratch to produce 3D geological subsurface models.
• Inform the creation of synthetic datasets to improve large-scale model performance.
• Collaborate with geoscientists to adapt diffusion approaches to real-world clean energy projects.
• Optimize training pipelines and custom modules within a high-throughput PyTorch environment.
