Job summary

Twilio seeks a Machine Learning Engineer III to join the Customer Memory Team. You will architect AI-driven capabilities powering contextual engagement across Twilio platforms, helping applications and agents know who a customer is and how best to reach them.

This role bridges research and production, tackling large-scale ML, LLM orchestration, and data-driven personalization while mentoring peers in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years applied ML/AI experience delivering end-to-end systems.
• Ability to work in a 0-to-1 environment with ambiguity and bias for action.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience building cloud-based services with high-volume data and real-time inference.
• Deep expertise in production ML/AI systems including LLM orchestration and embeddings.
• Strong statistical ML fundamentals and transformer knowledge.
• Mentorship and collaboration to raise team standards.
• Experience with globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship new functionality in a fast-moving product with rapid adoption.
• Design experiments for nebulous ideas and execute in weeks.
• Research state-of-the-art LLM orchestration, retrieval, and personalization.
