Job summary

Skyward Specialty is seeking a Senior Underwriter focused on Medical Malpractice, Healthcare Professional Liability, and General Liability for healthcare facilities and physician groups. You will work independently and with a team to grow a profitable book of business while applying underwriting expertise and sales skills.

The candidate will negotiate terms, analyze loss experience, and collaborate with claims, actuarial, and loss control teams.

Qualifications

• Healthcare liability knowledge and program structures.
• Experience in healthcare facility risks or physician risks preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Produce, underwrite, manage and service a profitable book of new and renewal business.
• Underwriter authority per guidelines; explain terms and rating decisions.
• Analyze claims activity and loss experience to adjust pricing and terms.
• Develop and communicate rate recommendations for renewals and new business.
• Coach/mentor associate underwriters and colleagues as needed.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and loss control teams.
