Job summary

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in Chicago invites an experienced IT Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to join the Information Technology Department. This role focuses on integrating and administering server OS, virtualization (VMware), storage (SAN/NAS), blade server infrastructure, security, and cloud platforms (Azure) to support the firm’s operations and continuity.

The position requires hands-on expertise with Windows Server, virtualization, hyper-converged infra, and enterprise storage, with

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; industry certifications preferred.
7+ years IT operations/infrastructure experience with Windows Server, VMware, and storage (SAN/NAS).
Strong communication and ability to lead cross-functional projects.
Experience with backup strategies and BC/DR planning.
Ability to work outside regular hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Technical Solution Delivery: design, implement, and document solutions; transition to steady-state operations.
Project Leadership: lead IT infrastructure projects and provide SME guidance.
Advanced Support & Vendor Coordination: act as escalation point and coordinate with vendors.
Task Prioritization: triage and manage tasks in a demanding environment.
Work Hours & Flexibility: 37.5-hour week with after-hours as needed.
Additional duties as required by management.
