Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a senior Ignition SCADA engineer to design and deploy a real-time monitoring platform for data centers. You will own the monitoring scheme, build templated Ignition applications, and deploy them across multiple sites with minimal rework.

The role is remote with 25% travel to sites; requires hands-on experience with Ignition Perspective/Vision, PLC integration, and industrial power systems to prevent faults and equipment damage.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on Ignition Perspective and/or Vision experience.
• 5 years of industrial controls/PLC background.
• 5 years of electrical power systems experience (UPS, gensets, BESS, switchgear, transformers).
• Proficiency with OPC-UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT Sparkplug B.
• 5 years of SCADA/EMS design from scratch.
• Ability to standardize and templatize designs across sites.
• Ignition Core/Gold Certification.

Responsibilities

• Design SCADA architecture for data center electrical infrastructure (power, UPS, gens, BESS, switchgear, transformers).
• Build standardized Ignition apps (UDTs, templates, Perspectives) for repeatable site deployment.
• Develop real-time monitoring screens showing power flows, equipment status, alarms, trends.
• Configure data acquisition from PLCs, power meters, BMS, protection relays (OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT).
• Design alarming and event logic to flag power anomalies before damage.
• Build deployment pipeline for validated designs across sites (gateway config, tag standardization).
• Produce design and model docs (I/O lists, tag schemas, network architecture).
• Support commissioning, SAT, and ongoing optimization across sites.
