Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer for a remote US role in the K-12 School Technology group. You will design, implement, and test modern assessment platforms using Go, Javascript/Typescript, VueJS, Python, Postgres, and MongoDB, collaborating with agile teams.

You will analyze requirements, follow Pearson coding standards, conduct reviews, and drive deployment and quality improvements. The role requires SaaS development, AWS cloud experience, Git work, and a strong, self-starting,

Qualifications

• Experience as a fullstack engineer with Go, Javascript/Typescript, VueJS, Python, Postgres, MongoDB.
• Experience with Cloud AWS hosted applications.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline.
• Software development experience creating SaaS applications.
• Experience with development, maintenance, and testing of software following industry best practices.
• Experience with highly available, highly concurrent web-based applications.
• Experience with GIT or similar VCS tools.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline (Desirable).
• Experience working with a range of AI tools and LLMs (Desirable).
• Desire to expand knowledge in many development languages, applications, and tools (Desirable).
• Quickly learn new processes and tools, business domains and technical applications (Desirable).
• Able to think technically and analytically (Desirable).
• Must assimilate information, distil knowledge, apply experience and provide solution alternatives (Desirable).
• Must have strong time management skills – including the ability to work well under pressure (Desirable).
• Must be a self-starter and detail-oriented (Desirable).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills (Desirable).
• Ability to work within a team (Desirable).
• Experience with 1EdTech LTI, QTI, OneRoster, and EdFi/Caliper (Bonus).

Responsibilities

• Analyze & Design – Ensure business and requirements artifacts are created that effectively model the customer’s requirements.
• Implement & Perform – Implement designs following Pearson coding standards and industry best practices.
• Review – Participate in requirements, design and code reviews.
• Test & Deployment – Work with QA and others to release high quality software; write tests.
• Quality/process improvement – Participate in initiatives to improve process and product quality.
