Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Forensic Accountant Specialist to lead analysis of time element claims, employee theft and inventory losses. You will collaborate with Home Office and regional teams to review complex losses and develop processes to enhance service delivery.

This Hartford position is based in Hartford, CT with full-time or hybrid options, and remote work possible within the United States. A Bachelor’s in Accounting and strong analytical skills are required; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience measuring time element claims incl. BI, extra expenses, inventory and employee theft.
• Bachelor degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong analytical and communication skills.
• Independent with ability to manage fluctuating claim load.
• Able to mentor/train others and deliver customer-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Lead forensic evaluation/analysis of time element, employee theft, and inventory claim.
• Review large, catastrophic business income losses overseen at Home Office level.
• Develop procedures to improve customer service experience.
• Assist in training with internal property staff.
• Travel to service internal and external customers.
• Provide team status reports to management.
• Collaborate with underwriting and product teams for commercial lines.
