Job summary

The University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst in Central Finance Office to support monthly financial analysis, forecasting and budget preparation.

Responsibilities include month-end close, variance analysis, and collaboration with multiple departments to maintain data integrity and financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in higher education and/or health service industries preferred.
• MS Excel proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts in-depth expenditures analysis to support executive decision making.
• Prepares budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.
• Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.
• Interprets data and presents findings to senior leadership including AVP FP&A and Chief Budget Officer.
• Ensure month-end close and GAAP-compliant reporting with explanations for variances.
• Assist with accounting records, monthly financial packages, and presentations.
• Lead balance sheet projects and segregate consolidated records across entities to improve integrity.
• Develop and maintain policies for processes like investments, PP&E, Pension, and related items.
• Support annual plan presentation development and visual enhancements.
• Support senior leadership on projects and operational needs.
