Job summary

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. seeks a Senior Director, Small Molecule Drug Substance Development to lead strategy, development, scale-up, and manufacture of APIs across development stages in a fully virtual model.

You will manage CDMOs, drive regulatory strategy, and mentor a team of scientists and process chemists to deliver robust, compliant and cost-effective manufacturing solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD in organic chemistry or related field with extensive API development experience.
• Proven leadership of scientific teams and cross-functional programs.
• Experience leading small molecule development from nomination to commercial readiness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute phase-appropriate dog substance development strategies.
• Lead API development planning aligned with program and portfolio objectives.
• Provide scientific leadership in route selection, process optimization, and scale-up.
• Drive robust, scalable, and cost-efficient manufacturing processes.
• Oversee CDMO selection, tech transfer, and manufacturing activities.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and health authority interactions.
