Job summary

Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) is seeking a Senior Director of Revenue Cycle Management to lead enterprise-wide RCM across SMO and CRO. You will oversee budgeting, contracting, study startup, invoicing, collections, and revenue realization, reporting to executive leadership to drive efficiency and financial performance.

This remote U.S.-based role prefers candidates in the Nashville, TN area; relocation and visa sponsorship are not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of Director-level experience with direct people leadership.
• Minimum 5 years in revenue cycle, receivables, finance, or related discipline, incl. 3+ years healthcare/clinical research.
• 7+ years of progressive leadership preferred; experience with SMO and CRO environments.
• Strong knowledge of clinical research budgets, site contracts, and billing compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute SCRI's revenue cycle strategy across SMO and CRO operations.
• Lead and develop a multi-level organization including direct and dotted-line leaders.
• Drive end-to-end revenue cycle integration from budgets to revenue realization.
• Prioritize resources and technology to improve compliance, cash flow, and efficiency.
• Establish scalable processes, controls, and documentation for billing compliance.
• Ensure compliance with clinical research billing requirements and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Legal, and Exec Leadership on performance and action plans.
• Lead monthly operating reviews and executive reporting of key metrics (DSO, AR, unbilled revenue).
• Serve as strategic advisor on revenue cycle best practices and growth initiatives.
