Job Summary
The Senior Director, Application Development is responsible for strategic oversight of software development using innovative solutions. They will define, implement, and maintain the company’s clinical integrations with Guiding Care and cross-functional system integrations. They are instrumental in creating IT roadmaps and advocating for cutting-edge technologies to ensure the evolution of CareSource solutions.
Essential Functions
- Set vision, direction, and execution for multiple business areas
- Lead pioneering innovative application development teams
- Develop strategy and high-level implementation plans for new applications
- Validate the business proposition associated with new application initiatives
- Develop long-term solutions focused on real-time processing
- Provide strategic plans for continual competitive enhancements to our application portfolio
- Employ best-practice software release management processes
- Ensure software projects are completed according to development methodologies, product specifications, and are properly documented
- Direct and lead the department as part of a company-wide software and automation validation program
- Provide leadership in dealing with third-party integration vendors
- Assess the technology platform to ensure reliability, security, performance, and compliance
- Develop technical, project management, and leadership skills of IT professionals
- Represent IT in project and business meetings
- Foster relationship management through effective communication
- Ensure quality application programming, analysis, and documentation
- Recommend or modify programs to implement enhancements or resolve issues
- Coordinate vendor relationships and project deliverables
- Conduct preliminary needs assessments and feasibility studies
- Partner with business stakeholders to analyze requirements
- Develop logic flow and configuration of applications
- Maintain documentation for systems and revisions
- Participate in system development and infrastructure design
- Lead support activities including problem analysis and implementation
- Coordinate support activities with all stakeholders
- Document problem occurrences and resolutions
- Identify and communicate process improvement ideas
- Assist in implementation and post-production support
- Perform other duties as required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum of ten (10) years of programming, analysis, and specification experience
- Minimum of five (5) years in a medium or large operating environment
- Five (5) years management experience
- Experience with Agile development processes
- Experience implementing cloud solutions, APIs, and service-based technologies
- Experience with application management across multiple data centers
- Development or management experience of .NET applications
- DR & Business Continuity experience
- Clinical experience in Utilization Management or Care Management
Skills and Competencies
- Broad IT and management knowledge

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft products
- Leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of healthcare and managed care environments is a plus
Working Conditions
- General office environment; may require sitting or standing for extended periods
Compensation Range
$159,400.00 - $279,100.00. Compensation considers education, experience, role scope, and other factors. Includes potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
