Job summary

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and support our AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes-based platform. The role focuses on reliability, scalability, security, observability, and deployment automation across production environments.

The candidate will build AWS infrastructure with OpenTofu, operate EKS workloads, manage GitOps via Argo CD and Helm, and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, Cloud or related role.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, preferably EKS.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (OpenTofu, Terraform).
• Experience with Argo CD, Helm and GitOps deployments.
• Strong Python scripting or development skills.
• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, ElastiCache Redis, and Amazon MQ in prod.
• Observability tooling experience (Datadog).
• Cloud networking knowledge (VPCs, subnets, TLS, load balancers).
• On-call rotation and incident response experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using OpenTofu.
• Operate Kubernetes workloads on Amazon EKS.
• Manage GitOps deployments with Argo CD and Helm.
• Develop automation and tooling with Python and scripts.
• Support AWS services including EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, ElastiCache Redis, and MQ.
• Implement monitoring with Datadog and create dashboards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in RCA.
• Contribute to CI/CD improvements and release automation.
