Job summary

Synergy is recruiting a Sr. Database Administrator to support the US Coast Guard at the Aviation Logistics Center’s ISD. You will manage enterprise databases through full lifecycle, ensure availability, design schemas, and implement security controls in a high‑availability environment.

You will integrate databases with DevSecOps pipelines (Kubernetes, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) and collaborate with developers, cybersecurity, and systems engineers to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Oracle, Ingres, and Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise or federal environments.
• Strong SQL skills: queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions, views.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Git-based toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise relational databases (Oracle, Ingres, SQL Server) for performance and data integrity.
• Lead database design and modeling with ERDs, schemas, and indexing strategies.
• Tune performance, optimize queries, and analyze resource usage for high-volume workloads.
• Enforce security policies and DHS 4300A, STIGs, and NIST 800-53 compliance.
