Job summary

OneSource Virtual is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support migration of our database footprint to AWS Aurora MySQL and AWS RDS SQL Server, focusing on MySQL performance, indexing, and refactoring to improve throughput.

You will collaborate with DBAs and developers, tune queries using Explain and Query Store, refactor stored procedures, and help design scalable relational models across dual engines in a hybrid cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Database Administrator with MySQL focus.
• 5+ years in query performance tuning and execution plan analysis.
• 3+ years migrating workloads to AWS Aurora MySQL and AWS RDS.
• 3+ years relational data modeling and schema design.
• Hands-on refactoring of stored procedures, views, and triggers.

Responsibilities

• Tune MySQL/Aurora queries and optimize execution plans.
• Refactor database code to improve throughput and error handling.
• Collaborate with DBAs to migrate schemas using AWS tools.
• Mentor developers and review queries before deployment.
• Maintain AWS Aurora MySQL and AWS RDS instances including backups.
• Translate business requirements into efficient relational data models.
