Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Engineering to lead a team delivering foundational data products and platforms that support research, oncology, and AI-enabled transformation. This role oversees data governance, quality, and regulatory-aligned practices while enabling access to high-quality data for analytics and decision-making.

The position requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on technical guidance to accelerate delivery of priority initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a track record leading teams on large, complex projects.
• 1+ years of experience with Epic EHRs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute PennDNA's data engineering strategy.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers (6-8) and data architects.
• Coordinate cross-functional work with clinical, research, and operational teams.
• Ensure data access, quality, governance, and security across enterprise data assets.
• Drive continuous improvement of data engineering processes and adoption of best practices.
