Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the governed transformation layer end-to-end. The role designs Snowflake transformation layers, migrates legacy SQL to dbt models with lineage, and defines conformed dimensions across multi-ERP environments.

You will establish modeling, testing, naming, and CI/CD standards, and work hands-on with dbt, SQL, and Python. This full-time remote opportunity offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data or analytics engineering with 4+ years on a cloud data warehouse.
• Expert SQL including window functions, performance tuning, and incremental loads.
• 3+ years of production dbt experience with macros, tests, and documentation.
• Kimball dimensional modeling with star schemas and SCDs.
• Experience with at least one ingestion tool and one orchestrator.
• Git and CI/CD for data with modern pipelines.
• Proficient Python for data tooling and APIs.
• ERP data modeling experience with major systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the Snowflake transformation layer for reporting and AI/ML.
• Migrate SQL views to versioned, tested dbt models with full lineage.
• Define conformed dimensions and operational facts across multi-ERP environments.
• Set standards for modeling, testing, naming, documentation, CI/CD, and release.
• Partner with report owners to validate semantic equivalence and minimize BI disruption.
• Define and own the semantic layer across Snowflake, dbt, and Power BI.
• Implement data quality testing, observability, and lineage with dbt tests.
• Support AI/ML, RAG, or agentic workloads from a warehouse layer.
• Collaborate with AI/analytics teams on feature-table patterns and data foundations.
