Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications enabling Financial Model Execution Platforms within the Data Platform. You will work across UI, APIs, microservices, and databases to deliver scalable, secure, high-performance solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in architecture discussions, and contribute to production support and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years in software development or data engineering
• 8+ years with HS diploma
• Strong React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript experience
• Backend services with Java, Spring Boot, microservices
• Kafka event-driven architecture experience
• AWS, Docker, Kubernetes familiarity
• Excellent communication with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack apps using React.js, Java, Spring Boot, Node.js
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices; implement event-driven solutions with Kafka
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in architecture reviews
• Support production systems and monitor performance
• Drive continuous improvement and agile ceremonies
