Job summary

First Citizens Bank seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Platform Engineering Organization. Build scalable cloud-based data solutions, pipelines, and data products using AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL to enable analytics and decision-making across the bank.

You will design data architectures, develop real-time and batch pipelines, and enforce governance and quality. Collaboration with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders drives enterprise-scale data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 4 years in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Platforms, or related disciplines.
• Or High School Diploma or GED with 8 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Platforms, or related disciplines.
• Preferred: AWS/Azure/GCP cloud proficiency; Snowflake, Spark or equivalent big data tooling; Python and SQL mastery; ETL/ELT development; data modeling and governance.

Responsibilities

• Data Architecture and Strategy: design scalable data architectures aligned with business objectives.
• Advanced Data Pipeline Development: build real-time and batch data pipelines; optimize flows for high-volume data.
• Data Governance and Quality Management: establish governance and quality monitoring; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting: analyze and optimize large-scale data ops; resolve complex issues.
• Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: guide junior engineers; promote best practices and cross-team collaboration.
