Job summary

Clarkston Consulting is seeking a Data Engineering Senior Consultant to deliver scalable data pipelines and architectures for life sciences, consumer products, and retail clients. You will lead data solutions, mentor teams, and collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and stakeholders.

Travel is 30-50% and consultants work remotely when not on client sites. A graduate degree is preferred; experience with cloud platforms and big data tools is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer or related data-focused role.
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
• Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines and data sets.
• Experience with data modeling and schema design (star and snowflake).
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, Snowflake, Airflow, Kafka.
• Experience with Azure or AWS cloud services.
• Programming in Python, Java, or Scala.

Responsibilities

• Support solution architects, software developers, data analysts, and data scientists on data and analytics initiatives.
• Lead client initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to define and deliver data solutions.
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures.
• Develop data models and schemas to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions and communicate with stakeholders.
• Ensure data delivery architecture is consistent across projects.
• Be self-directed supporting multiple teams and products.
• Identify opportunities to improve data processes, scalability, performance, and automation.
• Lead, grow, and mentor a data engineering team for clients.
• Assist in defining client solutions, estimating work, supporting proposals, and managing delivery.
• Contribute to project planning and status communication.
