Remote Senior Cost Estimator for DHS Programs

Job summary

LMI seeks a mid to senior-level cost estimator to support a federal program management office in Washington, DC. You will develop and update life cycle cost estimates and IGCEs for the client’s programs, conducting sensitivity analyses and engaging with stakeholders to ensure accurate budgeting for border security initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 3–10+ years of experience, relevant certifications, and proficiency in MS Office and cost-estimation tools such as ACEIT and Crystal Ball.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required in business, management, finance, math, or engineering.
• ICEAA or AACE certifications desired.
• 3–10+ years of experience.
• Previous work with CBP or DHS is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and PowerBI.
• Experience with ACEIT and Crystal Ball software is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update life cycle cost estimates (LCCEs) and independent government cost estimates (IGCEs) for the client’s programs and projects, as well as ad hoc estimates and analyses.
• Conduct sensitivity and uncertainty analyses.
• Participate in program meetings and technical interchanges to remain current with program requirements.
• Participate in the review and reconciliation of estimates developed by other contractors.
• Present results of estimates in a variety of formats such as verbal presentations, narrative reports, and briefing charts
• Generate estimates in accordance with DHS Headquarters and GAO Cost Assessment Guide standards to facilitate government review, third-party replication and validation, and future updates or enhancements.
