Job summary

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Senior Clinical Coding Specialist to join the Revenue Operations and Coding team. This remote role focuses on accurate coding of patient encounters to support timely billing and data integrity across systems.

The ideal candidate has strong CPT/ICD-10 knowledge, AHIMA/AAPC certifications, and proven experience in professional coding environments. A relevant degree and 5 years of coding experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 years clinical coding experience for complex or multi-specialties.
• 3 years clinical coding experience for complex or multi-specialties with preferred degree.
• May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
• Preferred: Oncology coding, EPIC experience, auditing experience.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate Evaluation and Management CPT, ICD-10 CM, LCD/NCD, and NCCI codes.
• Utilize EPIC and coding resources to ensure correct professional claim coding.
• Apply official coding guidelines, coding clinics, policies and HIPAA regulations.
• Interact with coding team and management to address coding issues and training needs.
