Job summary

National Interstate Insurance Company is seeking a Bodily Injury Senior Claims Rep to join our team. This position works fully remote from the United States and handles claims, investigations, and settlements within authority.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or related field, and about five years of property and casualty claims experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Generally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Plans and conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Negotiates appropriate settlements/reserves within assigned authority; may attend arbitrations or trials.
• Communicates complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorizes payments within authority limits and ensures timely payment.
