Job summary

BCBST BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Inc. is seeking a Senior BAW Software Engineer on the Sales and Marketing Systems team to lead design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of a new platform replacing a legacy solution.

You will partner with an external implementation partner, architects, and cross-functional teams to build scalable enterprise workflow and decision-management solutions. The role requires hands-on IBM BAW/BPM and ODM experience, Java/J2EE, REST/SOAP, and

Qualifications

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.
Experience 5+ years designing, developing, and supporting IBM BAW/BPM solutions.
Strong knowledge of IBM ODM, REST APIs, SOAP, JMS/MQ, and Java/J2EE.

Responsibilities

Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results.
Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
Develops and implements program/system test plans.
Devises data verification methods and standard system procedures.
Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
Acts as expert technical resource to development staff in all phases of the development and implementation process.
