payabl. seeks a Senior Backend Developer for the Core Gateway team, responsible for keeping the Perl-based payment gateway stable while building a next-gen Python microservices platform.

You’ll work on high-performance, scalable solutions in a live financial environment with 99.9% reliability, and you’ll contribute to both legacy and modern layers of the platform. Formación

• 5+ years of backend engineering with Python.
• Experience with Perl in production code or willingness to learn.
• Proven API integration experience, including webhooks and retries.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), Docker, and AWS.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka).
• Strong English communication across teams.
