Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Architect (Migration) to lead end-to-end VMware-to-AWS migrations remotely. You will define cloud architecture, migration strategy, and governance standards, while guiding architects, engineers, and stakeholders through the transformation program.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, with strong expertise in AWS services, IaC (Terraform), AI-enabled migration, and modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Lead end-to-end VMware to AWS migrations using Agentic AI-driven solutions.
• Define cloud architecture, migration strategy, governance standards, and execution while guiding architects, engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Discovery & Assessment: Lead infrastructure and application discovery; assess servers, apps, databases, storage, and network dependencies for AWS migration readiness.
• AWS Architecture & Migration Strategy: Define target AWS landing zone, roadmaps, sizing, and cost models; design infrastructure with EC2, ECS/EKS, FSx, EFS, Route53, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, API Gateway, Lambda.
• Agentic AI-Driven Migration Enablement: Lead migration with Agentic AI platforms; design AI agents, workflows and automation; optimize migration wave planning; drive automated validation & cutover.
• Migration Execution & Modernization: Provide leadership for VMware workload migration using AWS MGN; modernize with containerization; perform OS upgrades, security hardening, patching, compliance remediation.
• Cloud Engineering Standards: Define IaC standards with Terraform; establish patterns, modules, deployment best practices; integrate CI/CD and automation.
• Governance & Leadership: Advise executives, participate in Architecture Review Boards; manage governance, risk and stakeholder collaboration.
