Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for a fully remote role supporting mining operations worldwide. You will lead design and implementation of automation systems, program PLCs/SCADA, and mentor junior engineers across global teams.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in industrial automation, with strong PLC/SCADA and HMI experience, and a solid grounding in electrical theory and control principles.

Qualifications

7–10 years in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
Proven experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems.
Experience with HMI design and implementation.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control theory.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation and control systems for mining equipment and processes.
Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
Develop and maintain automation documentation (P&IDs, electrical schematics, logic diagrams).
Mentor junior automation engineers and provide technical guidance.
