Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Senior API/Application Developer to build and maintain APIs across multiple business lines within an Agile SDLC.

You will promote the API Management platform, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure scalable, reusable services using SOA and Microservices. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software development, strong leadership and communication skills, and experience with API gateways in Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in programming, analysis, design, development, QA, and support.
• Experience with SOA, Microservices, and API Gateways.
• Experience with at least one API Gateway/Management tech: 3Scale, MuleSoft, Apigee Edge, CA Technologies, Tibco Mashery, Axway, IBM Gateway.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain APIs for multiple lines of business within an Agile SDLC.
• Advocate for the API Management platform and accelerate customer adoption.
• Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, Analysts and Service Managers.
• Enable developers to adopt SOA best practices and promote reuse.
• Design services with scalability and maintainability in mind.
• Apply Microservices and API practices to meet objectives.
• Lead across teams to deliver API solutions.
• Manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and lifecycle communication.
• Support application quality, implementation and production support.
• Work normal hours with on-call rotation as needed.
