Job summary

IDS seeks a recognized Air Force/Space Force cost estimating authority for a federal applied research program. You adjudicate analytical work, determine valid analogs and estimating relationships, and ensure data normalization and correct interpretation of results.

Location: Remote or hybrid in the United States with occasional travel to the National Capital Region. Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret with SCI eligibility strongly preferred. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum fifteen years of cost analysis experience.
• Expertise in Air Force weapon systems and lifecycle cost drivers.
• Experience producing lifecycle cost estimates for defense systems.
• Active Secret clearance and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the operational cost method authority and adjudicate methods.
• Approve estimating methods and validation results before release.
• Mentor and integrate with other estimators and analysts.
• Develop cost model architectures and templates for cost estimates.
• Lead development of new cost estimating methodologies.
• Collect and normalize cost, technical, and program data from government sources.
• Apply cost risk and uncertainty practices, including probabilistic methods.
