Job summary

Zillow Group is seeking a Sr. Applied Scientist to drive next-generation ranking, recommendation, and generative AI systems for the home-shopping experience.

You will research, design, and deploy machine learning models powering core features, and collaborate across teams to deliver intuitive, personalized experiences. You will lead end-to-end model development, build robust data pipelines, and monitor production models while championing responsible AI practices and mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience applying ML or advanced statistical modeling in an industry setting.
• Experience delivering models into production environments.
• Experience with large-scale data sets, experimentation or A/B testing, and model performance measurement.
• Proven success collaborating in cross-functional teams to ship features or improvements.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of applied ML models and algorithms.
• Architect scalable data pipelines for preparation, feature engineering, training, and serving.
• Conduct offline analyses and online experiments to evaluate model performance.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics to translate business needs into scientific requirements and roadmaps.
• Mentor and coach other scientists and engineers in ML best practices.
