Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to lead internal controls and SOX compliance for a remote role while ensuring audit readiness. The position supports a telecommunications client and requires living in VA, MD, WV, OH, PA, or KY.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, 7+ years of experience in large public and corporate settings, and strong Oracle/Workiva skills, plus excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance.
• CPA required.
• 7+ years of experience in large public firm plus corporate settings.
• Expertise in auditing, accounting policies, and financial systems.
• Experience with Oracle.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills; familiarity with Workiva.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee internal controls and SOX compliance, including risk assessments and program scoping.
• Guide control owners in designing and evaluating control processes.
• Monitor and remediate control deficiencies with auditors.
• Administer accounting applications and drive tech-driven process improvements.
• Maintain documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure audit readiness for new systems, acquisitions, or changes.
• Test ERP-related risk management and access controls; document results.
• Provide regular updates to leadership and auditors.
