Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a remote Staff/Senior Accountant to support its growing finance team, reporting to the Controller. You’ll maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, and support budgeting, forecasting, and audits in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes GAAP compliance, financial statement prep, and cross-functional interaction, with a salary range of $65,000-$85,000 based on Chicago market data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3-8 years accounting or auditing experience; public accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including account reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses by department and report to departments as needed.
• Review transactions for GAAP compliance with company policies.
• Analyze billing to ensure revenue recognition alignment.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly accruals in the general ledger.
