Job summary

Anaconda, Inc. is expanding its Security team to protect and enable our data science platform as we scale. You will design and implement security controls, automation, and guardrails that reduce systemic risk while helping engineering teams ship faster.

This remote role focuses on building secure-by-default systems with hands‑on engineering, not checklists, across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. You’ll drive risk reduction through secure practices integrated into CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in systems administration, DevOps, network engineering, or software development prior to or alongside security work.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP, and Terraform for IaC.
• Experience writing scripts to automate security tasks using Python, Go, or Bash.
• Working knowledge of IAM, PKI, cryptography basics, network analysis, and threat modeling.
• Ability to communicate technical security risks to non‑security audiences and improve developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across firewalls, IAM, EDR, and secrets management in hybrid/multi‑cloud.
• Build security automation and tooling with Python, Go, and Bash; manage infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Triaging vulnerability data, investigating causes, and guiding risk reduction with ops guidance.
• Conduct code reviews and architecture assessments to identify security risks early.
• Embed security into CI/CD with SAST/DAST and dependency scanning.
• Respond to security incidents and maintain runbooks for crisis containment.
• Collaborate with Legal, IT, Platform Engineering, and Developer Experience to balance risk and velocity.
