Job summary

Worth AI is seeking a hands-on Security Engineer in Tampa, FL to strengthen vulnerability management, harden AWS environments, and embed secure coding practices across the software lifecycle.

You will own remediation initiatives end-to-end, triage security tickets, and collaborate with engineering, IT, and compliance to meet SLAs while communicating risk clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in security engineering, security analyst, or related role.
• Hands-on experience with AWS security services (IAM, VPC, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail).
• Experience with vulnerability management tools and remediation workflows.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST, and dependency scanning.
• Experience managing a ticket queue against SLAs with ownership.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead vulnerability management program across endpoints, servers, and cloud.
• Triage, prioritize, and track findings through remediation.
• Monitor remediation SLAs; elevate aging/high-severity findings.
• Maintain vulnerability management docs and metrics.
• Harden AWS environments and implement guardrails.
• Support SAST/DAST in CI/CD pipelines.
• Review AppSec findings with engineering teams.
• Participate in secure code reviews and threat modeling.
• Triage and resolve security tickets within SLAs.
• Lead security initiatives and cross-functional projects.
• Communicate risk/status to stakeholders.
