Job summary

Herd Security is seeking a Security Content Contractor to expand and sharpen its training library. You will translate real-world security knowledge into microlessons, simulations, and assessments that are accurate, engaging, and concise for quick completion by employees at customer sites.

This contract role offers flexible hours with potential for steady part-time commitments or project-based bursts, and occasional syncs during US working hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in security awareness or related practitioner role.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into plain language for non-technical employees.
• Experience writing for microlearning formats (short, mobile-first content).
• Self-directed, able to research topics and produce polished content with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST).

Responsibilities

• Write original microlessons, scenarios, quizzes, and simulation content across core security topics.
• Research and develop content on emerging threats with fast turnarounds.
• Adapt content for different audiences and roles.
• Collaborate with the Herd team to develop content frameworks and templates.
• Map content to relevant compliance frameworks and audit requirements.
• Review AI-generated content for accuracy, tone, and pedagogy.
• Stay current with threat landscape and flag topics for expansion.
