Job summary

Colorado Connections Academy seeks a Secondary Advisory Teacher to support K-12 students from Englewood office or a state-wide remote home office in Colorado. You will guide courses, credits, and graduation planning, act as first point of contact for student concerns, and collaborate with the School Counselor to implement advising processes for middle and high school students.

Qualifications

• Colorado teaching certification in a secondary content area; ELL experience preferred.
• Strong technology skills with Microsoft Office and related tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Customer-focused approach with high attention to detail and flexibility.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for events.

Responsibilities

• Advise students and families on academics, career planning and graduation.
• Stay current on high school graduation requirements and communicate them.
• Assist with course selection and Four Year Plan development.
• Advise on dropping courses and schedule changes while following policies.
• Review transcripts and enter credits into the online system.
• Keep transcripts accurate and up-to-date for Connections Academy.
• Coordinate with school records and faculty to obtain student records.
• Support interpersonal adjustments and connect families to resources.
• Participate in crisis prevention, SST teamwork, and reporting where needed.
• Coordinate with teachers to identify students at risk or in crisis.
• Oversee and maintain the Personal Learning Plan for each student.
• Assist with data collection during withdrawals and related processes.
• Help plan graduation ceremonies and related events.
